Barry Clark Barish

The Nobel Prize in Physics 2017


The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2017 Nobel Prize in Physics to Barry Clark Barish, Rainer Weiss  and (More information). The trio have been honoured for their work on creating LIGO and their discovery of gravitational waves.

He gave the second tangible proof by the experience that Black holes exist 

I met and photographed Barry Clark Barish, notorious professor at the California Institute of Technology. In 1997, he created the LIGO Scientific Collaboration. In addition, he detected with his team the merge of two 30 solar mass black holes on Sept. 14, 2015. This represents the first direct detection of gravitational waves since they were predicted by Einstein in 1916 and the first ever observation of the merge of a pair of black holes.

Barish made a presentation on this discovery to a scientific audience at Sorbonne university on August 30, 2017, with public announcement. My friends know how fan I am about astronomy. When I learned that Barish would come in Paris, I was really like a child. Could you understand. Almost exactly one hundred years after the publication of Einstein’s paper on General Relativity, it gives the second proof by the experience that black holes are no longer a theory, that gravitational waves are no longer a theory, and that Albert Einstein was a great genius.  

She gave the fist tangible proof by the observation that Black Hole exist

In 2000, Andrea Mia Ghez, an American astronomer, found strong evidence of a supermassive Black Hole at the center of the galaxy. I didn’t photographed her yet. One day, perhaps, I will be honored to!
